On July 28th, 2007, the Schoolhouse Exhibit re-opened in the vestibule of the Free Union United Methodist Church.

To mark the occasion, the former students that we knew of were invited. To the right is Helen, with her son Greg. Traditional games (marbles, jump-rope) were played and everyone had a chance to make and play with whirligigs and spinning tops.

Local crafter Pat Hawkins ran a stamping craft to create a commorative slateboard, here are Krissy, Alaina and Elise with their slates.

Participants were assisted by Rick to personalize their whirligigs with a wood burner,

...and Wayne demonstrated that the games were not just for the children:

Thanks to everyone who made the formal opening such a success, especially to the Hernandez family who organized the games, Pat and Rick Hawkins who ran the slate board and wood burning crafts, Richard Hartzel, Doris Drummond and Ron Petersen who loaned valued photos, desks, school registers, books and a flag for the occasion.  We would also like to thank the many people who brought brownies,  kept an eye on the artifacts in the community center and helped us clear everything away at the end of the day.
