Edna Cummins was born on the 24th of August 1906 and died on the 8th of May 2005. She was brought up on the Gruver farm and was taught by her older sister, Miss Lizzy Gruver, at the schoolhouse. Lizzy was 20 years older than her.

Edna enjoyed playing the piano at the schoolhouse and climbing the rock on the side of the schoolhouse. When she finished at the schoolhouse, Lizzy encouraged her to continue her studies, but Edna went back to the farm.

She married young and had 7 children. 2 died young, one of which was Ralph Cummins, Russell Petersen's friend.
